Hi and welcome to episode 236 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.

It was another week of big financial results with Microsoft and Blackbaud announcing 2026 first quarter results.

First, Microsoft announce results for the quarter ended March 31st, 2026, as compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year. Total revenue was $82.9 billion, an increase of 18% year-over-year. Microsoft Cloud Revenue accounted for $54.5 billion, up 29% year-over-year, with Revenue in Intelligent Cloud at $34.7 billion, an increase of 30%. Dynamics 365 revenue increase 22%, while Azure and other cloud services revenue increased 40%. Growth for Microsoft continues to be fueled by advancements in data centers and artificial intelligence, with Azure at the center, investing in cutting edge technology for Microsoft customers.

Then, Blackbaud announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31st, 2026. GAAP total revenue was $281.1 million, up 4.2%, with GAAP recurring revenue at $276.5 million, up 5% and representing 98.3% of total revenue. Momentum is gaining in the nonprofit space, with more companies taking to time to invest in their software and AI strategies for increased productivity and ability to deliver on their missions.

In other news, SAP acquired Dremio, an open, high-performance data lakehouse platform built to accelerate agentic AI and expand SAP Business Data Cloud’s ability to combine SAP and non-SAP data to more effectively run analytical and AI workloads in real time. By reducing fragmentation of essential data across an organization, companies can make more informed decisions with a holistic approach that includes all resources inside and outside of SAP.

In partnership news, Sage announced the expansion of its strategic relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS), unveiled on-stage at Sage Future in San Francisco. This brings together Sage’s AI-powered financial technology with AWS cloud infrastructure and AI services to help small and mid-sized businesses modernize faster and embed agentic AI across their workflows.
