Hi and welcome to episode 226 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.
Sage began the week by announcing new AI-powered capabilities in Sage Intacct designed to help finance teams move from managing data to driving performance. The latest updates strengthen Sage Intacct across close analytics, workflow automation, cash intelligence, and connected data access. The tools will reduce the need to switch between systems and helps teams stay focused on analysis, control, and timely decision-making. Updates in Sage Intacct R1 2026 include a Finance Intelligence Agent, Close Automation: Close Analytics, Cash Intelligence, AP Automation, an AI-powered import agent, and the Sage Intacct Data Cloud. Customers can expect a newly connected system experience in Sage Intacct’s R1 2026, with tools empowered to improve decision making by moving beyond traditionally siloed systems.
In other news, ECI announced an expanded alliance with FormedAI, a mid-market developer of business process automation software, to bring advanced digital account automation with AI to e-automate cloud users across North America. For years, self-hosted e-automate users have relied on FormedAI to automate invoices and vendor payments, boosting accuracy and cutting manual accounting tasks by up to 80%. Now, the same proven automation with AI-driven data capture and management is available to both on-premises and cloud customers, bringing streamlined AP workflows to the cloud. ECI is strengthening its product offerings, enhancing the AP experience for so many businesses currently relying on outdated models or solutions.
Then, Aptean announced the launch of Aptean Fashion & Apparel, its most powerful AI operations solution built for the unique demands of the fashion and apparel industry. The solution embeds apparel-specific intelligence at the core of every operation, interpreting styles, automating multi-step workflows, and using AI agents to make decisions in real-time. Aptean Fashion & Apparel runs on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and AppCentral, Aptean’s agentic AI platform. Together, they give brands a modern, scalable, cloud-native foundation with AI agents that move quickly across applications and data, improving operational precision and delivering intelligence. Aptean continues to deliver deep industry functionality to businesses that rely on specialization for their unique requirements and we expect to continue to see investments like this from Aptean in 2026 and beyond.
Finally, CrowdStrike and Microsoft Corp. announced an expansion of their strategic alliance that allows organizations of all sizes to purchase the CrowdStrike Falcon platform on Microsoft Marketplace using its existing Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment. Marketplace streamlines procurement and billing, helping organizations accelerate deployment of Falcon’s unified, AI-native protection across endpoints, cloud workflows, identity, AI, and data to stop breaches. With this expanded access, customers can accelerate time-to-protection, optimize committed cloud spend, and reduce operational overhead. Microsoft and CrowdStrike are working to make solutions more accessible to the masses without compromising quality.
