Hi and welcome to episode 93 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

Artificial intelligence continues to take the ERP industry by storm, as Qlik debuted a suite of OpenAI connectors that will help customers seamlessly and securely bring Generate AI content into Qlik to support a wide range of cloud analytics and automation use cases. These connectors will enable users to utilize Generative AI directly within Qlik to enhance data and insights in Qlik applications and automations. This will be a vital enhancement for Qlik as vendors across the market continue to infuse their technology stacks with AI. We expect to continue to see these advancements from vendors across the space.

Salesforce followed suit with the release of new innovations including Consumer Goods Cloud for Service, Trade Promotion Effectiveness dashboards, and Mulesoft Direct for Consumer Goods. These innovations will help drive top and bottom-line growth, increase customer satisfaction, and more effectively manage the billions of dollars brands spend on trade promotion with Einstein AI and automation. With so many consumer goods organizations looking to improve margins in 2023 and beyond, AI offerings from Salesforce and other vendors will enable these businesses to reach their full potential.

Aside from technological advancements, vendors continue to invest in preexisting solutions to extend their technology stacks and deliver greater value to clients. A clear example was IFS’ acquisition of Poka, Inc., the Quebec-based provider of a connected worker platform. In addition to IFS’ already deep Field Service Management functionality, Poka will further ensure the efficiency of factory and field workers across training and development through troubleshooting and other job functions. Poka’s actionable insights will also enable companies to stay compliant and provide safer working conditions as part of their ESG goals. These capabilities will support IFS’ continued mission of expansion into new spaces, including the midmarket.

Oracle also extended its offerings with the opening of its new EU Sovereign Cloud to help private and public sector organizations across the European Union gain more control over data privacy and sovereignty requirements. EU Sovereign Cloud is one of the first cloud offerings designed to address the EU’s emerging regulatory landscape, giving customers the services and capabilities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s public cloud regions with the same prices, support, and service level agreements to run all workloads. With the importance of data privacy constantly growing, offerings catering to the protection of data as well as regulatory requirements will extend the functionality of these great ERP offerings to more markets.
