Hi and welcome to episode 87 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

In recent news, SAP and UKG made major AI-related announcements that further emphasize this AI’s role in the future of ERP and HCM.

First, SAP and IBM announced that IBM Watson technology will be embedded into SAP solutions to provide new AI-driven insights and automation to create more efficient and effective user experiences across the SAP application portfolio. Additionally, SAP will use IBM Watson capabilities to power its digital assistant in SAP Start, which provides a unified entry point for cloud solutions from SAP, allowing users to search for, launch, and interactively engage with apps provided in cloud solutions from SAP and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Next, Google Cloud and UKG announced an expanded partnership to bring Google Cloud’s generative AI (GenAI) capabilities into the UKG HCM suites. UKG will leverage GenAI to create more powerful business insights that transform decision-making and help leaders more effectively manage teams. UKG is now an early partner using Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade GenAI and large language models (LLMs) through Vertex AI, building unified search and conversational AI applications.

In other news, FinancialForce announced that it had changed its name to Certinia to align with the company’s evolution and delivery of a comprehensive Services-as-a-Business (SaaB) platform. To announce the change, Scott Brown, CEO of Certinia said, “FinancialForce was the perfect name when the company was founded in 2009 describing its intent to deliver ERP on Force.com…It was time to ensure our name and brand align with all we do in the marketplace today.” This is a result of the company’s investments over the years to add professional services automation, FP&A, as well as Customer Success Cloud and Services CPQ.

As the market evolves, vendors need to evolve with it. That is exactly what Certinia is doing through its rebranding, creating a name and image that reflects certainty in the offerings of the company.

Finally, Epicor will host the 2023 Epicor Insights Conference next week. ERP Advisors Group will be attending the event to provide firsthand coverage of Epicor's advancements in 2023 and beyond. Don’t miss out, subscribe to our channels, or follow us on social media for coverage of the event.
