Hi and welcome to episode 64 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

In recent ERP acquisition news, Aptean made yet another acquisition of ImPuls AG, a provider of enterprise resource planning solutions to apparel, footwear, accessories, and textile brands and manufacturers. ImPuls ERP is used by over 150 fashion and apparel companies to better connect business-critical activities such as production planning, scheduling, the flow of goods, order management, accounting, and retail support.

With the number of acquisitions Aptean has made this year, we do not see an end to this activity any time soon. The consolidation of these many smaller ERPs onto their platform will make it very interesting to watch Aptean’s growth and momentum in 2023.

In major functionality releases, we saw enhancements from NetSuite, Microsoft, Salesforce, QAD, and UKG.

NetSuite announced new innovations to help organizations in Brazil run more efficiently and increase the bottom line with new SuiteSuccess financial management solutions and localization capabilities. Organizations will be able to quickly take advantage of cloud computing to consolidate real-time financial information, improve operational efficiency, address compliance with local tax laws, and streamline revenue recognition.

Then, Microsoft announced the Microsoft Supply Chain Platform, to help organizations maximize their supply chain data estate investment with an open approach, bringing the best of Microsoft AI, collaboration, low-code, security, and SaaS applications in a composable platform. As part of the new platform, Microsoft also introduced the preview of Microsoft Supply Chain Center, a ready-made command center for supply chain visibility and transformation.

Salesforce followed the functionality trend with the announcement of new Patient 360 for Health innovations that provide cost-saving automation, personalized intelligence, and real-time data for healthcare and life sciences organizations to deliver comprehensive patient success and equitable care with greater efficiency. These new capabilities will build on existing Patient 360 solutions.

Next, QAD announced a significant new release of QAD Digital Supply Chain Planning (DSCP) designed to support and help its customers navigate through global supply chain interruptions with innovative supply chain planning capabilities. A core feature of this release is the intuitive planning experience via the extended use of home pages and dashboards.

Finally, UKG announced the debut of FleX by UKG, a modern technology platform purpose-built to support great workplaces. FleX will help organizations evolve alongside the needs of their people, connecting the business with emerging applications to meet people where they want to work. This service-oriented mesh architecture will provide functionality through people-centric and behavior-focused artificial intelligence, a highly adaptable API framework, and a robust collection of tools and services, including low-code and no-code designers.

To wrap up the week with next-generation enterprise software news, Celonis unveiled its process MRI and extended its execution management to all business users with Celonis Process Sphere and Celonis Business Miner. The launch is anchored around two major strategies, the first to open up new and unprecedented levels of business process depth and perspectives to all business users, and the second to embed management into every business conversation.

Celonis and other process automation solutions' approach to solving complex business process problems is very interesting to us. We do expect a convergence with Celonis’ offerings and other ERP vendors going into the future.
