Hi and welcome to episode 192 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.

To begin the week, Oracle announced the Oracle Defense Ecosystem, a first-of-its-kind global initiative to redefine the delivery of defense and government technology innovations. The ecosystem is designed to strengthen U.S. and allied national security and help accelerate the disruptive potential of emerging defense technology by creating new opportunities for defense innovators to leverage the latest cloud and AI technologies. Oracle is extending its offerings to industries that are traditionally limited in the technology they can utilize due to privacy and security concerns. With this new initiative, more companies can benefit from Oracle’s technology.

In other news, Certinia announced its Spring ’25 release, loaded with features meant to give customer more foresight, flexibility, and intelligence. From smarter AI to better project visibility, this update is centered around enabling services organizations to move faster, work smarter, and deliver customer value at scale. First, Certinia AI will deliver greater resource and customer insight through GenAI Resource Summary and GenAI Customer Account Summary, unlocking the value of hidden data. Then, skills will be elevated and there will be improved resource productivity through skill suggestions, smart rescheduling, and Resource Request Staffer. Next, customers will be able to create more accurate estimates, faster through Estimate Financial Summary, configurable pricing calculations, and guided scoping. Finally, other enhancements will include project management with greater visibility through Deliver Tracker, streamlined time management through UI improvements and a new “Suggest My Timesheet” feature, a connected customer journey through value tracking and updated dashboards, and automated workflows with Financial Management Cloud updates including cash matching capabilities, bank reconciliations, and an enhanced UI for large-scale revenue recognition. This release is packed with advancements to benefit Certinia’s customer base and deliver even greater value through automation and artificial intelligence.

Finally, Nextworld unveiled 25.1, its first release of the year. Customers can expect major enhancements to the platform’s AI capabilities, making it easier for them to build smart applications, automate decisions, and act on insights in real-time. With the update, customers will be able to turn spreadsheets into working apps instantly, build custom AI agents and skills, and make predictions without a data scientist. Nextworld’s Chief Technology Officer Vito Solimene, summarized the release, stating, “This release is about putting intelligence in the hands of the people doing the work. We’re not just adding AI for the sake of it – we’re giving our customers real tools to move faster, make better decisions, and automate the parts of their business that slow them down.” Here at ERP Advisors Group, we expect Nextworld to continue to invest heavily in its product offerings to remove common obstacles to productivity and improve what customers can really do with their ERP.
