Hi and welcome to episode 190 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.
To start the week with industry news, new AI-powered anomaly detection and in-memory processing capabilities in the Oracle Utilities Customer Platform are helping deliver fast, accurate meter data management (MDM) and streamlining utility operations. These enhancements simplify work for employees and improve performance across the platform, which powers metering, operations and billing, sales and account management, customer service, and customer engagement. AI continues to empower many aspects of Oracle’s product strategy, empowering companies across all industries with AI powered tools.
In other news, Workday announced two major AI enhancements at Workday DevCon 2025. First, Workday announced a new unified, AI developer toolset to bring the power of Workday Illuminate directly into the hands of customer and partner developers, enabling them to easily customize and connect AI apps and agents on the Workday platform. The toolset includes Agent Gateway, AI Widgets, and expanded AI Gateway APIs. Then, Workday announced the Workday Agent Partner Network, a global ecosystem of partners building AI agents that will connect with the Workday Agent System of Record. This announcement will work hand-in-hand with Agent Gateway to seamlessly connect and manage AI agents from Workday and its Agent Partner Network within the Workday Agent System of Record. The Workday ASOR will provide tools to hire, onboard, assign responsibility, and manage agent outcomes the same way businesses manage people. AI and AI Agents are becoming increasingly important to future business operations, making moves like this from Workday vital in the new era of technology.
Related, Sage announced the launch of Sage Copilot for Sage X3. Now available globally, the new functionality empowers Sage X3 businesses to achieve high performance by delivering clearer operational insight, boosting productivity, and accelerating growth. Now with Sage Copilot, Sage X3 users will benefit from conversational interaction through embedded natural language chat, real-time operational alerts, sales intelligence that anticipates risk, and a unified 360-degree view. Additionally, customers will benefit from embedded AI-powered Accounts Payable Automation, reducing manual data entry by accurately extracting and classifying invoices, freeing up teams to focus on higher-value work. This is another major example of AI empowering the next evolution of business value.
Finally, Salesforce announced results for its first quarter fiscal 2026 ended April 30th, 2025. First quarter revenue was $9.8 billion, up 8% year-over-year. First quarter subscription and support revenue were $9.3 billion, also up 8% year-over-year. Salesforce continues to build upon its already impressive growth year over year, supported by major investments in its products. We expect to see many more great things from Salesforce throughout 2025.
