Hi and welcome to episode 188 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.
To kick off the week, Workday announced results for the fiscal 2026 first quarter ended April 30, 2025. Total revenue was $2.24 billion, an increase of 12.6% from the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Subscription revenues were about $2.06 billion, an increase of 13.4% from the same period last year. Workday continues to experience substantial growth year-over-year, further supporting market demand for these solutions and a testament to Workday’s growing ecosystem.
Then, Salesforce entered into an agreement to acquire Informatica for approximately $8 billion in equity value, net of Salesforce’s current investment in Informatica. Under the terms of the agreement, holders of Informatica’s Class A and Class B-1 common stock will receive $25 in cash per share. Informatica’s leading enterprise AI-powered cloud data management capabilities will combine with Salesforce’s well-established platform to lay the groundwork for the next generation of agentic AI. As customers demand more from their systems, this is an important next step in delivering value in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
In other news, QAD announced a new partnership with Boomi, a provider of AI-driven automation. The goal is to eliminate the historical friction of enterprise integrations, with QAD customers now benefitting from Boomi’s platform to enable rapid, pre-built connections across systems – including QAD Redzone. At the same time, Boomi customers will gain access to advanced process mining capabilities powered by QAD’s Champion AI, optimizing and automating integration workflows with speed and insight. We are entering a time where software strategies are heavily reliant on platforms. With this collaboration, QAD is developing a deeper, stronger platform strategy for its customers.
Finally, Red Hat, a provider of open-source solutions, announced Red Hat AI Inference Server, a significant step towards democratizing generative AI across the hybrid cloud. The inference server leverages the powerful vLLM project and is enhanced by Red Hat’s integration of Neural Magic technologies, offering speed, efficiency, and effectiveness to help deliver Red Hat’s vision of running any gen AI model on an AI accelerator in any cloud environment. This is major news for businesses who want to take advantage of AI without the complexities often associated with adopting these strategies. By bridging the gaps between the application and their AI models, customers can gain actionable insights from their system.
