Hi and welcome to a very special episode 100 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

With more and more users demanding access to services and data on the go, Oracle announced Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer, a rack-scale cloud infrastructure enabling organizations to use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute services anywhere. Accessibility like this empowers Oracle customers to further support their distributed cloud deployment and support continued expansion with a more user-friendly experience.

As we have covered with other ERP providers in prior episodes, NetSuite is the most recent vendor to extend its data center footprint into other global regions with its announcement that it is now running in OCI cloud regions in Toronto and Montreal. This is the first time the NetSuite service is running from data centers in Canada. This is major news for businesses in Canada looking to capitalize on the NetSuite platform while also complying with Canadian regulations. We expect to see greater growth in Canada for NetSuite services and adoption.

Finally, Microsoft followed the trend, announcing that Epic clients can now use Microsoft Azure Large Instances, a solution designed to achieve the scale needed to run the large Epic electronic health record (EHR) database – up to 50 million database accesses per second. By leveraging dedicated resources, clients can scale beyond the previous limits of shared public cloud infrastructure solutions. This is a major enhancement for healthcare providers who will be able to utilize this solution to extend their services and products to more who need them.
