What is your favorite thing about your career and why?

I am here to help people and organizations rethink, change, and grow. That’s my "why". It fits perfectly in the consulting industry through significant, and often difficult, ERP changes for clients. I like the niche position of having started in accounting, moving to the back end of accounting systems, and then moving to the migration of those systems. I enjoy the breadth of industries and combinations of legacy to target systems encompassed by our clients. My favorite thing, however, is reserved for the “Ah-ha!” moments along the migration when clients get excited about seeing what this change will do for them.

What has been your most rewarding project so far and what have you learned from it?

We had a project where we were the first to attempt an on-premises to cloud migration of the particular legacy to target systems involved. Parts of the legacy system had corrupted data from bad integrations. The target system did not have a comprehensive reference for data migration. However, in learning how to rebuild the data and assist in building out a migration guide, we discovered ways to improve migration project procedures that have continued to be useful to this day.

Tell us a little bit about some things you are passionate about!

I love hiking in the mountains. Our best vacations have been spent traveling through the National Parks. The beauty and grandeur are well worth the effort. Glacier National Park is still number one and the crown jewel of our continent. I also like cryptography, ciphers, and puzzles. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of some great teams competing to solve challenges for DEFCON and TV Show ARGs (Alternate Reality Games). It’s easy to see the correlation between these passions and ERP: both are uphill battles and puzzles.

What is your favorite sports team?

The Dallas Cowboys
