Epicor is “sparking action” at Insights 2025 with an exciting overview of what is to come based off what has been for the vendor. Over the last four years, Epicor has made 14 major product acquisitions that lay the foundation of what Epicor is becoming.
What’s Coming from Epicor: An Inside Look at Epicor Insights 2025
Getting More from Your Data
At the center of this innovation is data and artificial intelligence, bolstered by a willingness to listen to customers in order to create a better product. Among the 14 acquisitions, the spotlight was largely on Grow.
Grow was strategically acquired in 2022 as a Business Intelligence (BI) tool that is being heavily leveraged to build Epicor’s future data platform. Grow leverages a data lake, versus a data warehouse, to deliver a more seamless way for customers to access, analyze, and utilize their data. How? With the various data types in a data lake, including unstructured data access, customers can get more of what they need without the headaches associated with data cleansing and structuring.
Over the years, businesses have become less concerned with how to gather data and are now focused on how to apply it. Grow has over 150 pre-built connectors, empowering businesses to connect previously siloed sources and access data in a single place. Innovations like this will be groundbreaking for organizations trying to gain a foothold during market turbulence. Manufacturers and distributors have been especially impacted by recent tariff announcements, and they need data to make the most informed decisions. With siloed systems, businesses will be unable to see the real expenses across the entire supply chain. With the power of Grow, organizations can mitigate these risks. Customers can expect to see a lot more from Grow in 2025 and beyond.
Prism, Epicor’s AI solution, works in tandem with Grow as it continues to be embedded across the portfolio of solutions. Prism is important to mention, with businesses achieving new levels of value through AI solutions, but it was not the core focus of Insights.
Digital Tools for Frontline Workers
Customers will get more out of their instance of Epicor with Acadia, a system for empowering frontline users with lessons and other learning tools. Acadia, a provider of Connected Worker solutions, delivers digital tools to guide frontline workers through operational processes and provides actionable insights for more informed decision-making.
Epicor acquired the application in 2024 and highlighted the impact Acadia would have at Insights 2025. With a continued focus on the “Make. Move. Sell.” industries, Epicor is dedicated to the workers who ensure factories are operating effectively and efficiently. That commitment is further cemented by investing in products to uplift frontline workers.
Making a Move to the Cloud
Ascend with Epicor, a program designed to accelerate cloud adoption among organizations currently utilizing legacy Epicor products, was also highlighted at Insights 2025.
More and more businesses are turning toward the cloud to modernize their businesses and keep up with the competition. However, it is easy to get deterred when you hear frequent implementation or upgrade horror stories. While Epicor still supports its on-prem solutions, some versions are end-of-life and others may be closer to the end than you think.
Ascend is proactively supporting clients through one of most difficult decisions faced by businesses today: is the cloud a viable solution for my company? And is it worth the headache of migrating? While it may be far from an exact science, Ascend does provide “advanced tooling for migration scope and data conversion, proven best practices and deliverables for each stage to speed time-to-value, and fixed-fee program pricing that ensures a cost-effective cloud migration” (Epicor.com). Epicor is honing its path to the cloud, especially for go-forward products like Kinetic and Prophet 21, to help customers feel assured in their decision and ultimately avoid common pitfalls.
Changes to the Channel
Epicor is laser focused on its channel strategy, specifically through the elevation of Value-Added Resellers (VARs). The network of Kinetic VARs has long been invested in by the ERP vendor to meet the unique needs of customers in micro-vertical industries or those needing something slightly different than what Epicor direct typically delivers.
However, this has not always been the case for Prophet 21. Within the last year, Epicor opened the door for Prophet 21 implementation partners to become VARs and own the licensing for customers. This shift will enable Prophet 21 to grow and expand, but what do changes to the channel really mean to current Epicor customers?
With the expansion has come new leadership. Epicor has created new positions in the channel and elevated new executives to run their space. A dedicated team of individuals at Epicor ensures transparency throughout the ecosystem and brings awareness to available solutions. But beyond awareness, this initiative means customers will get more from Epicor. VARs will be freer to innovate and configure Epicor’s solutions to meet the needs of customer. But, more importantly, someone will always be available. Customers can receive truly personalized service, with a small organization feel, while still working with a large vendor.
