What to Do About SAP ECC 6.0 End-of-Life

SAP is ending support for ECC 6.0, with various versions being sunsetted in 2025 and 2027. Over 24,000 businesses still rely on ECC 6.0, so what can they do to combat looming end-of-life deadlines?

Talk to an Expert

The following versions of SAP ECC 6.0 will no longer receive mainstream support as of 2025 and will have no option for extended maintenance:

  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 0
  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 1
  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 2
  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 3
  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 4
  • ECC 6.0 EHP Version 5

And, unfortunately, the rest of the suite, ECC 6.0 EHP Versions 6 through 8, will reach the end of all mainstream support in 2027.

Some customers will make the jump to S/4HANA, but this may not be the right path for every business. You should explore all your available options before automatically planning an S/4 HANA re-implementation.

Is your version on the list?

If you are on SAP ECC 6.0 EHP versions 0 through 5, your business is no longer receiving support. And EHP versions 6 through 8 are right behind. Remaining on unsupported version of SAP ECC 6.0 means you could face:

  • No vendor support for hot fixes.
  • Increased security vulnerabilities.
  • Compliance issues.
  • Lack of scalability.
  • Unstable database prone to crashing.
  • And much more.

One of the main reasons I like working with ERP Advisors Group is that Shawn Windle is very experienced, and that is key. Everyone on our internal team has had some experience with these types of projects — some of it directly with ERP, some of it with regular software implementation. It’s important that you have someone who has experience with ERP specifically and someone who has relationships with the vendors and can really help to get the truth from them.
