Hi and welcome to episode 85 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

This week, Oracle released AI-driven solutions, adding new capabilities to the Oracle Fusion Cloud Application Suite. First, Oracle introduced new capabilities across Oracle Fusion Cloud Application Suite to help customers accelerate supply chain planning, increase operational efficiency, and improve financial accuracy. The updates include new AI-powered lead time estimates in Oracle Supply Chain Planning, an enhanced quote-to-cash process in Oracle Fusion Applications, and new Oracle Channel Revenue Management rebate management capabilities. Then, Oracle announced updates to Oracle ME, the employee experience platform within Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM. These updates include Oracle Grow, a new AI-powered solution that connects learning, skills growth, and career mobility within a unified growth experience, career paths, personalized development playlists, an enhanced team skills center, and personalized development preferences.

Applying programmatic AI to real business issues makes so much sense, saving a significant amount of time and money for Oracle’s customer base.

Also, in AI-related news, Salesforce announced new Einstein GPT and Data Cloud capabilities for Flow, its portfolio of automation tools. This enhancement will unify customer data across channels and interactions into single, real-time customer profiles through Data Cloud and allow for the automation of complex workflows and trigger actions based on real-time changes. Einstein GPT will also allow users to create and modify automations using a conversational interface, simplifying the flow creation process, and lowering barriers for non-technical users.

Again, these enhancements will significantly simplify processes for Salesforce users, ultimately delivering greater value. We expect to see many more enhancements like this from vendors across the industry as AI grows in prevalence.

In other news, Epicor has made significant strides to expand globally with hosted services for Kinetic in China and a new data center in India. In China, Epicor launched Epicor Managed Hosting Services for Kinetic in partnership with Shanghai-based Grand Target Information Technology. This launch will offer customers access to manufacturing industry knowledge, local partnership for greater support & security, and improved operational & cost efficiency. Additionally, Epicor’s plans for a new regional data center in India to match surging customer cloud adoption follows the string of international growth from Epicor.

As technology adoption continues to expand around the world, it is great to see Epicor confronting its global customers’ needs to effectively deliver value.

Finally, SAP announced its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2023. Cloud revenue was up 24%, with SAP S/4HANA cloud revenue up 77%. As predicted, SAP saw significant growth in the first quarter of 2023 and is expected to continue its upward trajectory throughout the year.
