Hi and welcome to episode 41 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

Last week, Epicor announced several new enhancements that we are excited to share. The first is Epicor Automation Studio, an integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solution embedded within Epicor Kinetic and Epicor Prophet 21, powered by Workato. The demand for features that can connect applications across an organization is higher than ever, with vendors needing to supply solutions to remain competitive which Epicor is doing with Epicor Automation Studio.

Additionally, Epicor reviewed their new CPQ solution with visual production configuration capabilities and integrations to its flagship ERP products as well as a host of additional enhancements. Epicor reconfirmed their commitment to driving new product capabilities through internal product development and continued acquisitions of best of breed functionality, all driven from the company’s strong financial performance and highest ever ARRs.

Workday recently released the results for the fiscal 2023 first quarter ended April 30, 2022. Total revenues were $1.43 billion, an increase of 22.1% from the first quarter of fiscal 2022 and subscription revenues were $1.27 billion, an increase of 23.2% from the same period last year.

Although Workday fell short is a couple categories compared to the first quarter of 2021, it is clear they are growing, and we believe will continue to see further increases in total revenues. Workday is a strong contender to the classic Teir 1 ERP solutions for certain industries and we believe Workday will leverage their market position to develop more innovative solutions and experience continued growth.

Steve Hare, CEO of Sage, recently confirmed that Aziz Benmalek has been appointed as the President of Sage’s North America region on a permanent basis. In this role, Benmalek will continue to be part of the Executive Leadership Team and will report to Hare. With their new leadership and corporate branding in place, as well as some exciting product releases on the horizon, we expect to see Sage’s relevance grow in the market.

Deltek unveiled the 43rd annual Deltek Clarity industry study results for Architecture & Engineering firms. This survey of over 550 A&E firms in the United States and Canada identifies the key challenges impacting the industry, as well as highlighting bright spots and forecasting future trends. This survey found that there is a strong outlook on the future, despite the talent crisis, so long as technology is utilized properly, and businesses are strategic.

We agree as we continue to see ERP playing a major part in especially Professional Services Firm’s next wave of automation of manual tasks in order to free up talent to focus on more strategic activities.

Planful announced the availability of Predict: Projections, the latest addition of its Planful Predict suite of AI and ML applications, and a new experience for business users to update plans, forecasts, and budgets within the platform, reducing friction across the business. Predict was introduced in 2021 as a Planful-developed proprietary artificial intelligence engine designed specifically for financial data. Its goal is to extend the suite’s capabilities and effectiveness by enabling users to quickly build accurate, AI-driven budgets and forecast scenarios.

Artificial Intelligence has consistently been growing in importance for businesses who can leverage the technology to make sound business decisions. With features, such as Predict, coming from software vendors, gone is the age of tedious evaluating and planning that can be thwarted by human error. AI will create an efficiency for businesses unlike anything we have seen in the past.

The Blackbaud Institute, a research division of Blackbaud, is celebrating 10 years of its quarterly charitable giving index by hosting a series of free, virtual “fireside chats” with the sector’s foremost thought leaders and experts to give nonprofit leaders a clear picture of the trends that have shaped, and will continue to shape, the philanthropic landscape.
