Hi and welcome to episode 20 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host Ashley Glasgow.

On Saturday, December 11, UKG became aware of unauthorized activity impacting Kronos Private Cloud. The company is taking continued action to investigate and address the ransomware incident. Unfortunately, one of the trends we will be discussing in 2022 is around enterprise application vulnerabilities to cyberattacks such as these.

In acquisition news, QAD just acquired WebJaguar, a best-in-class digital commerce solution. We see this as a continuation of the trend of legacy ERP vendors purchasing best of breed applications which position existing customer base for future functionality targeted to meet specific business needs like digital commerce.

Another major ERP acquisition was announced today by Oracle who is set to acquire Cerner, a medical records company, for $28.3 billion. Once this acquisition is complete, Oracle will have a deep foothold in the medical industry, one of the largest industries in the world. We are cautiously optimistic to see if Oracle decides to leverage ERP and EMR data with their OCI solutions, which could be very interesting.

Lastly, our team here at ERP Advisors Group would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season!
